Hotel Review: Mystique, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Santorini
If you’ve got Marriott Bonvoy points itching to be spent and elite status to leverage, Mystique, a Luxury Collection Hotel, should be at the top of your list.
From the moment we were warmly welcomed at the top of the stairs and our heavy backpacks were swiftly taken off our hands, to the heartfelt goodbyes at the end of our stay, it was clear that Mystique excels in offering an unparalleled blend of location, luxury, and personalized service. It’s no wonder this hotel is one of the most coveted stays in Oia, Santorini.
Known for its romantic ambiance, breathtaking views, and unique architectural charm, Mystique offers an array of standout features:
Breathtaking caldera views: The hotel is perched on the cliffs of Oia, providing sweeping views of the Aegean Sea and the iconic Santorini caldera. Sunsets from Mystique are spectacular — often considered one of the best on the island.
Unique architecture: Mystique is known for its traditional Cycladic architecture, characterized by whitewashed walls, domed ceilings, and flowing organic shapes. The design blends seamlessly with the natural environment, giving it an intimate and authentic feel.
Exclusive, intimate experience: The hotel features a relatively small number of suites and villas (about 41), ensuring a private, intimate experience. Each accommodation is uniquely designed, with modern amenities that complement the traditional architecture.
Private plunge pools & terraces: Many of the suites and villas offer private terraces with plunge pools or Jacuzzis, allowing guests to relax while enjoying uninterrupted views of the caldera.
Luxurious amenities: As part of The Luxury Collection, Mystique offers high-end services, including a world-class spa, gourmet dining, and bespoke experiences. The hotel is particularly known for its fine dining options, including the Charisma restaurant, which features local Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on fresh, organic ingredients.
Romantic ambiance: Mystique is a popular destination for honeymooners and couples seeking a romantic getaway. Its secluded location, stunning views, and luxury amenities create an idyllic atmosphere for romance.
Eco-friendly approach: Mystique also emphasizes sustainability, integrating eco-friendly practices in its operations, from energy-saving systems to the use of locally sourced materials and ingredients.
Tailored experiences: Guests can enjoy a range of tailored experiences, including wine tastings, private boat tours, and island excursions that offer a deeper connection to the culture and beauty of Santorini.

Santorini tips
Where to eat in Santorini
For the lowkey spot with caldera views with quality food and wine to match:
MIA’S Restaurant / Fresh, locally-sourced ingredients on the quiet side of caldera right next to Mystique and walkable from most hotels in Oia; be sure to get there before sunset for a nip and a table on the roof.
For the immaculate local vibes spot:
Fino Restaurant & Cocktail Bar / Thoughtfully sourced Mediterranean dishes in a homey space. While this one does not come with caldera views, the cocktails and dishes more than make up for it.
For the splurge meal:
Five Senses Restaurant / Down the road in Imerovigli, this has an incredible unobstructed view of sunset overlooking Oia.
For the spot I won’t judge you if you visit 3x a day:
Pitogyros Traditional Greek House for a quick and generous 5 euro gyro.
Our suite featured a spacious indoor jacuzzi with a stunning view of the caldera, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and breathtaking scenery.
Happy hour at Mystique's Charisma restaurant
What to do in Santorini
Hike the Fira to Oia Walk at sunrise. Eat a hand-delivered breakfast on your personal slice of cliff’s edge that you had the foresight to order the night before. Hop on a catamaran to take the island at sunset.

Flight booking:
Coming from Türkiye, the first stop on The Sabbatimoon, we used Air Canada's Aeroplan program to snag 2 economy seats on Aegean Airlines for 7,500 points + $74 USD in taxes and fees each (priced below in CAD). It's worth noting that this program is generous with adding legs to your itinerary for little to no additional cost — it's the same number of points to fly from Istanbul (IST) to Athens (ATH) as it is to add the Santorini leg as well.
Air Canada's website with economy and business class pricing.
While we used points for this leg, do note: cash prices can be found for relatively cheap though as both RyanAir and EasyJet fly to the island — always price it out on Google Flights before committing your points.
